D'Ambrosio Eye Care donates to The Seeing Eye

Employees and patients of D'Ambrosio Eye Care raised over $5,000 for The Seeing Eye® of Morristown, NJ last fall.  The Seeing Eye® breeds and trains dogs for their guide-dog program.  The donation from D'Ambrosio Eye Care came via a fall festival fundraiser, book and bake sales, raffles and generous donations.  The fall festival was made possible through the generosity of donations from many local businesses and vendors.

The cost to breed, raise and train each puppy is $50,000.  Our $5,000 donation allowed us to select the name "SPECS" for a yellow Labrador Retreiver in honor of a long-time employee whose pet with the same name had recently died.

This is "our" puppy, "SPECS"...

Parent's Painless Growth Program

Did you know D'Ambrosio Eye Care offers a "Parent's Painless Growth Program" on their children's eyewear?

Childrens vision is growing and changing, much like the size of their clothes and shoes.

Some children will need to have prescription glasses as they grow. For many children, their prescription can change more than once each year until their eyes are fully developed. D'Ambrosio Eye Care recognizes that purchasing new lenses with each change could become costly to parents. By offering a "Parent's Painless Growth Program" your child will receive free lens changes with the first 12 months of their purchase of eyewear (up to age 18).

All parents need to do is to ensure that one of our highly-qualified Doctors continues to care for your child's eyes. If we decide your child is outgrowing their lenses, we'll change them for free!

The Three "O"s of Eye Care

Did you ever wonder what the difference is between an Ophthalmologist, an Optometrist and an Optician?

Ophthalmologists are M.D.'s (Medical Doctors). They have attended college and furthered their education through medical school.

They specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. They also perform eye surgery and prescribe drugs. They may also prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Optometrists are O.D.'s or Doctors of Optometry. In addition to a bachelor's degree they generally have four years of graduate training at a school of Optometry. The Optometrists at D'Ambrosio Eye Care are additionally trained under our Ophthalmologists.

They are trained to diagnose eye abnormalities and prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses. Optometrists may refer patients to an Ophthalmologist or other medical specialist in cases requiring other medications or surgery.

Opticians are found in the Optical Department. They are licensed to fit and supply eyeglasses and contact lenses which have been prescribed by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. They cannot examine or test the eyes nor prescribe glasses or contact lenses.

Dior certified!

Our Optical Department is proud to announce they are certified in DIOR frame dispensing!  Come in and check out our great selection of frames in every price range!
